Pulmonary and Sleep Care for Patients from McKinney
Our clinic is on Preston Road in Frisco, and patients from McKinney are welcome here.
VitalAir Sleep and Lung Center is a single clinic in Frisco, Texas, and patients from McKinney are a regular and welcome part of it. If you have been referred for a lung or sleep concern, or you simply have a question you would like looked at carefully, this page is here to tell you what we do and where to find us.
Two routes connect McKinney to the clinic. The Sam Rayburn Tollway (SH 121) runs southwest from McKinney through Plano and Frisco, and US 380 (University Drive) runs east to west through both McKinney and Frisco. Preston Road (SH 289) then runs north and south through Frisco, past our address.
Care led by one physician
Dr. Varun Halani is board certified in Pulmonary Disease, Sleep Medicine, Critical Care Medicine and Internal Medicine. He is the physician you meet at the first visit, and at the visits after it.
That continuity matters in the conditions we look after, because most of them are not settled in a single appointment. A pulmonary nodule is followed with interval imaging. Sleep apnea moves from testing, to treatment, to a check that the treatment is doing what it should. Carrying the whole of your history from one visit to the next is part of how those decisions get made.
Evaluation and testing arranged together
Consultation and diagnostics are arranged through the same practice, so the clinical question and the testing that answers it stay connected. That includes pulmonary function testing, FeNO testing when airway inflammation is the question, home sleep apnea testing, and in-lab sleep studies where those are the better fit.
Which test to use is a clinical decision made case by case. A home sleep apnea test suits many patients with suspected obstructive sleep apnea; other presentations are better answered in the lab.
What we most often evaluate
Chronic cough that has gone on longer than expected. Shortness of breath on exertion that is new or getting worse. Asthma that is still causing symptoms. COPD. A pulmonary nodule found on imaging that was ordered for another reason. Snoring, witnessed pauses in breathing, or daytime sleepiness that more sleep does not fix.
If you are not sure whether a concern belongs with a pulmonary or sleep specialist, you are welcome to call and ask.
